CORPORATE GRANT INQUIRY LETTER:
Starr Homeplace; The Pandemonia Foundation is dedicated to promoting the develop-
ment of a creative economy in Northeastern Louisiana. As you may already be aware,
this area includes some of the poorest parishes (counties) in the nation. We are focus-
ing our efforts on serving the twelve parishes in the northeastern corner of the state.

We plan to accomplish this by using heritage buildings and artifacts, as a focus for the
formation of a regional creative community. We have begun by providing facilities
and leadership for monthly gatherings of regional craftspeople. Our goals include the
following:

oThe creation of a flagship museum of agricultural heritage and mechanical arti
facts to be restored and used as a means of community building
oProviding a tourist destination, and an educational asset
oBuilding regional identity by collecting and unifying the diverse cultural assets of
the region
oUsing the creative community to promote governmental and educational initia
tives needed to support a creative economy.
o Stimulation of that economy through scholarships, marketing, micro lending,
teaching, importation of expertise, patent and copyright assistance.

Our plans are to impact adult education, arts promotion, historic preservation, cultural
literacy, youth education, economic development, environmental consciousness, toler-
ance, diversity, and diabetes awareness in this region.

(Customized Paragraph reflecting the particular areas of interest that apply to the granting
institutions mission description and Starr Homeplace) We write to you in particular because of
your stated interest in adult education and entrepreneurial skill development - etc

Our three-year old Foundation is conducting a capital funds drive. The first $300,000.00
is earmarked for endowment. The next $100,000.00 is to be utilized for improvements
and completion of existing buildings: primarily health and safety issues. $250,000.00
beyond that is designated for the relocation and adaptive re-use of a historical struc-
ture as a display and multipurpose space. This will house the Dave L. Pearce Founda-
tion collection of historic equipment and memorabilia and related items. Funding
beyond $650,000.00 will be used for acquisitions of museum assets and promotion of
Foundations goals. This capital funds drive is our primary need. Annual funding and
repetitive funding is also needed to sustain our operation. Specific non-capital projects
can be defined.

We hope that your organization will be able to offer support. If so, please advise us as
to how we should proceed. We do not have a professional or experienced grant writer.
