The Pearce Collection
A Heritage Museum
A Heritage and Creativity Center
The Pearce Collection, added to the materials already
in place, would allow us to become a significant
agricultural heritage museum. A well run private
museum can provide benefits on a regional scale.
Not only do other business benefit from visitors, but
the virtues of the region can be presented in the best
possible light.

Our philosophy adds another critical positive benefit
not found in a żądisplayżą type museum. We will be an
incubator for creativity and innovation. A hands on
approach will be taken to the restoration of artifacts and
equipment. To the greatest practical extent, the museum
will be used, not simply viewed. We hope to build a
Community of inventive creative people, who will
benefit our area with expertise and inventive solutions.

The Creative economy we hope to promote, includes
not only Craftspeople who practice heritage work, but
artists, inventors, engineers, and develpers, who solve
modern problems with modern techknolegy.

Our hope is to serve not just one community, or one
parish, but all of Northeastern Louisiana. Twelve Parishes
lie within a ninety minute drive. We are fourteen miles
from an interstate, on a soon to be four laned Federal
Highway.

Our 120 Acre, income producing site offers both an
appropriate place, and a spacious place, for whatever
future needs and opportunities present themselves. If
the people of Northeastern Louisiana will offer their
support, this can become a very positive reality.
In the Heart of Northeastern Louisiana
Dave L. Pearce
September 8, 1904
May 28, 1984
His career in public service spanned 29 years.
He served in the House of Representitives beginning
in 1940 and as Commissioner of Agriculture under five
Govenors in the 1950's, 60's and 70's. His widely recog
nized progressive leadership saw the introduction of
The LA Forrestry Comission, Agricultural Experiment
Stations, The Soil Conservation Act, The Public Works
Act, The Commerce and Industry Act, The State
Marketing Act, The Forrestry Act, The Warehouse
Comission Act, and the Artificial Insemination Act.
It was a time when agriculture was growing and
changing at an amazing pace

After the death of Mr. Pearce in 1984 the Dave L.
Pearce Memorial Foundation was created. This
Organization has conducted the Dave L. Pearce
Memorial Weekend in Oak Grove, La for some 20
years. It has grown into a highly regarded venue for
musical groups from across the region.
In June of 2006 an agreement was reached whereby the
entire collection would be donated to Starr Homeplace/
The Pandemonia Foundation. The primary condition of the
gift is that the Foundation have the funds neccessary for
endowment, safety improvements, creation of an appropri-
ate display structure, and gradual restoration of the collec-
tion. The minimum requirement is $650,000.00. Our goal is
One Million.
